Tearfund New Zealand is an aid and development charity working with children and communities in less fortunate countries across the world. One of Tearfund's core focuses is the sponsorship of children.

In 2021, we started sponsoring children through Tearfund across 13 coffee growing nations, via our wholesale coffee sales.

We believe we have a responsibility to aid those in need, and in doing this we are able to help children have a healthier lifestyle and better education. We also recognise that for many of these children, they may well become the next generation in coffee farmers.

We determined a value of average weekly kilos dispatched to wholesale clients needed to be able to sponsor a child, and set that as our sponsorship increments. Measured bi-monthly, every sponsorship increment we have increased over that period, we will sponsor another child.

This means as a wholesale client, not only are you serving your guests amazing coffee, you are helping to make a difference in the life of a child in poverty.
